Hand knotted very antique, rare, stunning, mosaic ancient design gourd shaped glass beads paired with an equally stunning handmade talisman made in the SW Sahara by a nomadic Bedouin. These gorgeous beads were used both for adornment and trading goods and likely made during the 1800s by Venetian glass guild artisans. The gourd is an ancient symbol of fertility, abundance and protection The Ahl “Azzi Bedouin talisman was worn as a powerful object of protection from the harsh environment they lived in as well as for tribal identification. Sturdy goatskin imbued the talisman with resilience, fortitude and protection from harm. The coins were symbols of wealth and power and the conus shell, a symbol of regeneration and birth.
