Handknotted white metal beads were handmade in Ethiopia in a very unique design. These beads compliments the stunning 100 year old Coptic cross made from a Maria Theresa thaler (coin). Maria Theresa was the Empress of the Austrian Hapsburg Empire and she created a highly regarded coin currency that was used in trade. Because of its difficulty in getting and its high silver content, Ethiopians often melted down a Maria Theresa coin to craft into the iconic Coptic cross. -
